Volleyball earns AVCA's Team Academic Award

The Chapman University women’s volleyball team earned academic recognition from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for the sixth year in a row. The Panthers were part of a record-shattering number of teams to be honored on the annual Team Academic Award list.
221 Panthers honored as SCIAC All-Academic

Chapman University’s student-athletes matched their record number with 221 SCIAC All-Academic selections in for the 2018-19 school year. The Panthers had the fourth-most selections of the nine schools in the SCIAC.

2019 Athletics Department Awards announced

Chapman University Athletics announced its annual senior departmental awards at the Sports Appreciation Jog-a-Thon earlier this afternoon. The department awarded both male and female Student-Athlete of the Year awards as well as male and female Leadership Awards.
Srivastava earns All-Region recognition

Freshman Sophie Srivastava earned another award after a standout freshman season as All-Region Honorable Mention. The SCIAC Newcomer of the Year was one of two freshmen honored in the West Region.

The season came to an end for the Chapman University volleyball team with a 25-10, 25-13, 19-25, 26-24 loss to second-seeded Cal Lutheran. The Panthers (19-8) came out strong in the third and fourth sets but couldn’t overcome the early hole.
Srivastava headlines SCIAC awards as Newcomer of the Year

Three Chapman University women’s volleyball players earned All-SCIAC honors earlier this morning. The selections were headlined by freshman Sophie Srivastava, who earned SCIAC Newcomer of the Year and became the first women’s volleyball athlete to win a major SCIAC award since entering the conference in 2012.

The Chapman University women’s volleyball team took No. 6 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps to five sets earlier this evening. The Panthers (19-7, 10-6 SCIAC) dropped their final home match of the regular season 24-26, 17-25, 25-18, 25-16, 9-15 to the visiting Athenas (24-3, 15-1 SCIAC).

The Chapman University women’s volleyball team suffered a five-set loss to visiting Cal Lutheran on Tuesday. The Panthers (19-5, 10-4 SCIAC) remain in second place despite the loss with two matches left to play.

Volleyball sweeps Whittier

A trio of freshmen led the Chapman University women’s volleyball team to a 25-18, 25-17, 25-18 sweep of visiting Whittier. The Panthers’ three freshmen combined for 20 kills and the Panthers hit .347 as a team in the crucial sweep.

ORANGE, Calif. - The Chapman University women’s volleyball team swept the visiting Caltech Beavers 25-18, 25-19, 25-10 earlier this evening. The Panthers (16-4, 7-3 SCIAC) were led by freshman Sophie Srivastava on both sides of the ball.
