Competing at the World Masters Athletics (WMA) Outdoor Championships for the first time in eight years, Chapman University cross country and track head coach Anna Wlodarczyk earned a silver medal at the 2011 Championships in Sacramento last week.
Belanger earns Capital One Academic All-District honors

Chapman University track and field standout Wendy Belanger has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District VIII women’s track & field/cross country team, as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The senior was named to the second team after breaking two school records this spring.
Fruci, Moore set personal bests in season's final meet

In the final meet of the season, both Rose Fruci and Kirsten Moore had personal bests for the Chapman University women’s track team on Saturday afternoon at the 17th annual Steve Scott Invitational hosted by U.C. Irvine at Anteater Stadium.

The Chapman University women’s track and field team held its own against the likes of Division I and II athletes from Long Beach State, UCLA, UC Santa Barbara and Arizona at the UC San Diego Triton Invitational on Saturday. Despite being the only Division III school competing at the event, the Panthers received a handful of notable performances.
24-year old record falls as Belanger sets new 800 meter mark

It was another record-breaking day for Chapman University senior long sprinter Wendy Belanger who set a new school record in the 800 meters at the Soka University Peace Invite on Saturday. Belanger placed fourth in her heat with a time of 2:27.05, breaking 24-year old record of 2:27.20 set in 1987 by Son’s Williams.

Sprint relay team breaks 26-year old Chapman record

The Chapman University women’s 1600-meter sprint relay team broke a 26-year old school record on Saturday, completing the event in 4:40.41 at the Claremont Rossi Relays. The team of freshman Rose Fruci, senior Anne Portwood, sophomore Peyton Collins and senior Wendy Belanger bested the previous record of 4:46.05 (set in 1985) by more than five and a half seconds.

n its second meet of the season, the Chapman University women’s track competed in the Pomona-Pitzer All-Comers meet on Saturday with nearly 500 other athletes from NCAA Division I, II and III along with several local junior and community colleges.
Chapman youth on display at Caltech meet

The Chapman University women’s track team opened its season Saturday with several strong finishes at the Caltech All Comers event. Sophomore Peyton Collins captured a first-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 52.06 as the school record holder picked up where she left off last season.
