2022 Spectator Policy (updated 3/21/22)
****As of 3/21/22, Chapman University no longer requires proof of vaccination or a negative test to attend events on campus. The information below is outdated but is being kept for archival purposes.****
Chapman Athletics and Chapman University will once again allow spectators into athletic events, effective immediately. Chapman University has updated its campus visitor policies on the CU Safely Back website that all visitors to campus events must provide proof of vaccination or a negative test upon entry. The negative test must be within 48 hours for a PCR test or 24 hours for an Antigen test.
All visitors to Chapman's campus must come prepared with the proof of vaccination or negative test gain entry to any athletic event. Faculty, staff and students of Chapman University will need only to present their Daily COVID Clearance email. Chapman University strongly recommends masks be worn at all times when on campus.
The proof of vaccination or negative test will be required for all visitors attending any event throughout Chapman's campus, including all on-campus athletic events.
For basketball games, fans are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance: Women | Men.
The health and safety of our students and the community at Chapman University remains paramount in the difficult decisions being made during the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. Chapman Athletics has worked closely with the University administration as well as local health authorities to create a safe environment for our student-athletes, staff and visitors.
Chapman Athletics, in conjunction with the University, is continually evaluating the spectator policy within the current landscape of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the landscape continues to change, Chapman Athletics will continue to adjust the spectator policy to ensure the health and safety of our student-athletes, staff and visitors. This policy can change at any time.
Each institution within the SCIAC will continue to set its own guidelines regarding spectators. Fans hoping to attend away games are encouraged to check the SCIAC website and the host institutions athletic websites for updated policies.
Chapman Athletics will continue to provide a free video stream for most home athletic events.
Spectators at Chapman home sporting events are subject to abide by the policies set forth below:
- All spectators are strongly encouraged to wear a face covering while on campus.
- All spectators are required to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test upon entry. Accepted tests will be PCR tests within the previous 48 hours or Antigen tests within the previous 24 hours.
- Spectators will be asked to maintain distance from all student-athletes and will have to wait outside the venue post-game unless otherwise noted.
- Specific facility capacity and ingress/egress paths are outlined below.
Hutton Sports Center (Volleyball/Basketball)
Allred Pool (Water Polo, Swim & Dive)
- Entrance point for all spectators will be the north end stairs to Chapman Stadium. An elevator will be provided for guests with accessibility needs. Bathrooms are available at the north end/bottom of the stairs or at the south end of the stadium.
- Exit point for all spectators will also be at the north end stairs to Chapman Stadium. An elevator will be provided for guests with accessibility needs.
- Spectators are not allowed on the pool deck.
Chapman Stadium/Wilson Field (Soccer/Lacrosse)
- Face coverings are strongly recommended for all fans at all times, per Chapman University policy.
- Entrance point for all spectators will be the south end stairs to Chapman Stadium. An elevator will be provided for guests with accessibility needs. Bathrooms are available at the north end/bottom of the stairs or at the south end/backside of the stadium.
- Exit point for all spectators will be at the north and south stairwell. An elevator will be provided for guests with accessibility needs.
