Every team over a 3.2, 270 recognized as SCIAC All-Academic

The SCIAC recognized 270 Chapman University student-athletes on its annual All-Academic list. Collectively, Panther student-athletes raised the bar for academic achievement as every team achieved a 3.2 team GPA or better.
Volleyball earns AVCA academic honors for 14th consecutive year

The Chapman University women’s volleyball team has earned the US Marine Corps Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association for the 14th year in a row. The USMC-AVCA Team Academic Award is an annual recognition of high school and college volleyball teams that maintain a 3.3 team GPA.

Helgeson honored for third time, Kenison gets first All-SCIAC nod

Senior Cat Helgeson and junior Julin Kenison were selected to the All-SCIAC teams, announced on Monday by the conference. Helgeson was honored for the third time in three years and Kenison finished her first season with Second Team honors.

Women’s volleyball took home a big win in sweep fashion over Caltech on Saturday Oct. 8, with set scores of 25-15, 25-17, and 25-23. The Panthers looked sharp all around and the start of the match set the tone for the duration. Chanel Sud started off the game on the service end clinching the first six points, jumping out to a convincing 6-0 lead.
Kenison totals career-high 17 kills in loss

Women’s volleyball dropped their homecoming match 3-0 to the Cal Lutheran Regals on Oct. 1, 25-20, 25-21, and 25-21. Julin Kenison was on fire, especially in the first and third sets, getting seven of her kills in each of those frames. The sophomore outside ended with 17 kills, hitting .382

Volleyball opens SCIAC schedule with four-set win

Four different players reached double digit kills as the Chapman University women’s volleyball team opened its SCIAC schedule with a 26-24, 23-25, 25-21, 25-19 win over visiting Pomona-Pitzer. The Panthers had their best hitting percentage of the season in the four-set win.

The Chapman University women’s volleyball team fell in four sets to visiting Colorado College in the final tuneup before the start of SCIAC play. The Panthers avoided the sweep with a third set win before Colorado College sealed its 25-21, 25-12, 27-29, 25-21 win.
