Those being Male and Female Scholar-Athlete Awards as well as the Jack Duddy and Don Perkins Leadership Awards.

Male Scholar-Athlete Award

Dillon Keefe was named the 2022 Male Scholar-Athlete Award winner. In addition to his tremendous play on the field for Chapman football, Keefe accumulated a 3.44 GPA in the classroom while collecting his bachelor's in business administration.

The linebacker was a two-time First Team AFCA and D3Football.com All-America, and a two-time SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Year. He posted over 200 tackles in his career and an impressive 43 tackles for loss.

"Keefe is like Halley's comet," said Bob Owens, head coach of football. "A player like him only comes once every 100 years. His work ethic on the field translated in the classroom as well. He was a great player to coach and have around the program."

Female Scholar-Athlete Award

Sophie Srivastava was named the 2022 Female Scholar-Athlete Award winner. Along with being one of the most decorated athletes in Chapman Women's Volleyball history, Srivastava excelled in the classroom with a 4.0 GPA as a Psychology major and earned SCIAC All-Academic honors three times.

On the court she was a two-time AVCA player of the year, three-time All-West Region, 2021 SCIAC Athlete of the year, and three-time All-SCIAC First Team. Srivastava also posted 32 career triple-doubles — in digs, assists, and kills — the most in the nation across all NCAA levels since they began tracking the statistic in 2014.

She also served as the co-president and treasurer for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

"Sophie was an amazing student to have both on the court and at the university," said Mary Cahill, head coach of women's volleyball. " Her ability to maintain a 4.0 while being the SAAC president and an All-American was tremendous."

Jack Duddy Award

Jessi Lumsden was named the recipient of the 2022 Jack Duddy Award for her outstanding leadership on and off the court. Lumsden worked alongside Srivastava as the other co-president of SAAC and posted a 3.61 GPA .

"Jessi has not only been a leader for the volleyball team as team captain the last three years, but she has also been a great leader for Chapman Athletics," Coach Cahill said in regards to Lumsden's leadership with SAAC.

On the court, however, as the team captain Cahill mentioned, Lumsden led the Volleyball team to two consecutive SCIAC championships in 2019 and 2021. She finished her career with over 1000 kills across three seasons.

Don Perkins Award

Hayden Moore was named the recipient of the 2022 Don Perkins Award for his leadership skills exhibited on the court and in the classroom. Moore completed his degree in Accounting with a 3.83 GPA.

Men's basketball head coach Mike Bokosky expressed his appreciation for Moore as a member of the program.

"He was like having another coach on the basketball team," Bokosky said. "He could relate to all of our players, and they gravitated towards him as he was always approachable."

Moore led the Panthers to the NCAA Tournament and a competitive first round loss to Mary Hardin-Baylor. He was the Panthers second leading scorer at 15.4 points per game.
