Bio
The captain and starting shortstop for Chapman's 1968 College Division national championships baseball team, Zamora played a key role during the Panthers' title run. His defense sparked the Panthers to a 38-6 record and No. 1 College Division national ranking in 1966 and a pair of West Region titles in '66 and '68. He was named to the All-Southern California Athletic Conference team as a senior in '68. He was twice named Chapman's Most Inspirational Player.
He was also a standout in the classroom, a Dean's List student all four years and honored in his senior year as the first-ever recipient of the Don Perkins Memorial Award as Chapman's top scholar-athlete. He played three seasons professionally in the San Diego Padres farm system.
