Rauh named SCIAC Athlete of the Week and to D3 Team of the Week

ORANGE, Calif. – Chapman University junior RHP Brian Rauh has been named SCIAC Male Athlete of the Week as well as to the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week for his career-high 16 strikeout performance against No. 19-ranked Linfield College on Saturday afternoon.

The two-time All-American and West Region Pitcher of the Year tossed a complete-game six-hit shutout as Chapman defeated the Wildcats 6-0 in the first of a four-game weekend series on Saturday. Rauh hasn't allowed a run in his last 16.1 innings pitched. His 16 K's was one short of a Chapman record.

It was his second complete game and first shutout of the season as Rauh improved his season record to 5-1 and now ranks No. 3 in the nation in strikeouts with 91 Ks in 72 innings. His 1.12 ERA ranks 13th in Division III and he's holding opponents to a .160 batting average.

The right-hander now has a 27-1 career record with a 1.77 ERA over 2 1/2 seasons. Earlier this season Rauh became Chapman's career strikeouts leader, now with 324.
