Peck selected as National Pitcher of the Week

ORANGE, Calif. – Junior Tyler Peck was selected as the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association's National Pitcher of the Week after his dominant performance against Pomona-Pitzer in the second round of the SCIAC Postseason Tournament this past weekend.

The right-hander helped lead the Panthers to their first SCIAC Tournament Championship in program history with a career-high 14-strikeout game against the Sagehens. He was voted the Most Valuable Player of the tournament after tossing the complete-game shutout. In his fifth 10-plus strikeout game of the 2018 season, the Corte Madera native only allowed three hits and earned his seventh win of the season.

Peck's performance on the mound propelled the Panthers to a second game on Saturday in which they defeated No. 1 La Verne 10-3. Chapman then beat No. 2 Redlands twice on Sunday to claim the title of SCIAC Tournament Champions.
