Love repeats as CoSIDA Academic All-District selection

ORANGE, Calif. – For the second year in a row, senior first baseman Jared Love has been selected to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team. The award recognizes all the selected student-athletes' achievements on the field and in the classroom.

Love became the Panthers' all-time home run leader this season and currently has 22 career home runs. Despite missing the first 14 games of the season with an injury, Love finished the regular season hitting .324 and was third on the team with five homers. In 32 games, he knocked in 33 RBIs and drew 21 walks. He also had a .991 fielding percentage.

In the classroom, Love owns a 3.85 GPA and will graduate this spring with two degree in physics and mathematics. Last year, he was named to the Academic All-America Third Team and is a multiple-time SCIAC All-Academic honoree.

The Academic All-District teams are selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). With his selection to the District VIII First Team, Love will now be considered for a repeat selection to the Academic All-America Team.
