Osaka's three-run bomb caps off baseball's 9-2 victory
ORANGE, Calif — Baseball cruised to a non conference victory over the Occidental Tigers, 9-2 on Tuesday, Apr. 19.
Kai Osaka brought some power to the plate launching a three-run bomb to left field in the fifth inning, which would cap off the scoring and a solid day at the plate for the Panthers.
Chapman finished the day with 11 hits, three coming off of the bat of Drake Mueller who has been a force in the lineup as of late.
On the mound, Brandon Menzel got the start on the staff day. He pitched the first inning and Turner White, who got the win, relieved him in the second and third innings. The Panther pitchers were able to hold the Tigers to just two runs, both coming in the first two innings.
With the win, Chapman improved to 22-9 on the season. Occidental fell to 9-22-1.
The Panthers return to the field on Friday to face Whittier on the road in game one of a three-game set. They'll be back at Hart Park on Saturday to play games two and three.
