Foard honored with Academic All-District selection

ORANGE, Calif. – Senior Cooper Foard added another award to his season as a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection. He was the lone representative from the SCIAC to earn the distinction.

The Panthers' catcher from San Francisco, Calif., was an All-SCIAC First Team selection after another strong year at the plate. He put up some historic power numbers with 10 home runs this season – the most at Chapman since 2009. He is just the 11th player at Chapman to hit double digit homers since 1994.

A double major in political science and advertising, Foard owns a 3.54 GPA while hitting in the middle of Chapman's order. He is .325 this season with 40 RBIs and 10 stolen bases.

He joins a long list of Panthers to receive the Academic All-District distinction over the last 30 years but is just the third Chapman catcher to earn the award.

Foard and the Panthers earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship and will host Pacific on Friday at 11 a.m.
