Senior punter adds All-Region award to the mantle
ORANGE, Calif. – Chapman University senior Jimmy Adranly has been named to the D3Football.com All-West Region team for the 2011 season. The punter finished the regular season ranked No. 4 in all of Division III in punting average – his third consecutive season ranked in the top-10 nationally.
Adranly was named to the All-West Region third team, the first such honor in his career. He becomes the fourth Chapman punter in school history to earn All-Region honors.
As a senior, Adranly set a career-high with a 42.4 yards per punt average and tied a school record with a 69-yard punt against the University of La Verne. He also pinned the opponents inside their own 20 yard line or recorded a touchback a combined 11 times this season and had five punts of 50-plus yards. Besides his record-tying punt at La Verne, Adranly also had one of his best games of the season at home against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges in October when he punted five times for a 47.0-yard average. That included a 65-yard punt which, at the time, was a career-high.
Last month Adranly was named to the Capital One Academic All-District VIII team for his work in the classroom and on the field. And he previously earned SCIAC Athlete of the Week honors this fall. He was also the starting goalkeeper on Chapman's NCAA playoff-qualifying soccer team in 2011.
