Handful of Panthers named to USA College Football preseason list

ORANGE, Calif. – Six Chapman University football players have been named to the USA College Football Division III Preseason All-America list for the upcoming 2015 season. Seniors Jeremiah McKibbins, Alex Rorie, Hunter Petterson and Garrett Frediani, alongside junior Conner Larkin headlined the First Team while senior Jacob Speer was named to Second Team.

McKibbins is coming off a record-setting junior season in which he led the SCIAC conference with 812 yards in seven conference matchups, for a career total of 2,039 career-rushing yards. Last season McKibbins ranked 11th in the nation with 16 rushing touchdowns. 

First team All-SCIAC Selections, Larkin and Frediani look to build on last season's defensive success. Frediani recorded 35 tackles for Chapman in the 2014 season and led the Panthers with tackles for loss (6.5). Meanwhile, DB Larkin recorded a team-high of 50 tackles, two INT, and five pass breakups.

Senior DL Rorie (13 tackles, two TFL) also topped the First-Team list as he helped Chapman allow only 387.7 yards/game that placed Chapman second in the conference. 

Seniors Peterson and Speer anchored the offensive line as All-SCIAC honorees who helped the Chapman offense rank 13th in rushing, averaging 269.3 yards/game.
