Keefe earns second D3football.com Team of the Week honor

ORANGE, Calif. – Junior linebacker Dillon Keefe is making more of a name for himself in his third season, earning his second D3football.com Team of the Week honor after helping the Chapman University football team stay undefeated with a crucial 21-18 victory over Redlands on Saturday night.

The captain tallied a season-high 10 tackles, three solo, to help the defense keep Redlands to its lowest-scoring game of the season.

With the Bulldogs driving downfield down three points, Keefe came up big with a couple of critical stops. He tallied the Panthers' only sack of the game on a Redlands first-and-ten to push the Bulldogs back to second-and-17. With 1:31 left on the clock in what would surely be the Bulldogs' final drive of the game, Keefe made a big solo tackle in the backfield to force a turnover on downs and help secure the win for Chapman.

The Orange, Calif. native has 30 total tackles as the Panthers reach the halfway point of the season this Saturday at Occidental, nine of those coming as tackles for loss. He currently leads the SCIAC with 4.5 sacks. Keefe is the only SCIAC athlete to be selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week twice this season.

Chapman rolled to its fourth consecutive win with the victory over Redlands. The Panthers also broke through into the top-25, earning the No. 19 spot in the nation after beating two ranked teams this season.
