Parkin earns national honor again

ORANGE, Calif. – He's been a menace to the Claremont Colleges and now he's on D3football.com's Team of the Week for the second week in a row. Senior Nathan Parkin was selected to the national honor roll after another week of multiple takeaways.

The cornerback from San Jose, Calif., caused two more turnovers against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps after hauling in three interceptions against Pomona-Pitzer the week prior. He set the tone in the blowout win over CMS when he stripped the ball away from the running back and pounced on it on the Stags' second play from scrimmage. After causing the first lost fumble of the year for CMS, the corner made a one-handed, highlight reel interception.

With four interceptions in the last two week, Parkin now leads the squad with five on the year. He also ranks second on the team with six pass breakups.

Parkin and the Panthers locked up the at least a share of the SCIAC title and a bid into the NCAA Tournament with the 41-17 win over CMS and will look to complete the first undefeated regular season in program history on Saturday at La Verne.
