D3football.com recognizes Keefe as First Team All-American

ORANGE, Calif. – Junior Dillon Keefe was again recognized as an All-American, this time by D3football.com. The website dedicated to Division III football chose Keefe as a First Team All-American linebacker.

Keefe led the Panthers to a historic 2019 season. Chapman won its third SCIAC title, hosted its first-ever postseason game, won its first-ever postseason game and achieved the highest ranking in school history.

Keefe was a menace to opposing offenses with a team-best 72 tackles, including 17 for a loss. He got to the opposing QB for 10.5 sacks in 11 games and was one of the best in the nation at coming off the edge to block four kicks. He picked off a pass, broke up nine more, forced two fumbles and recovered another for a touchdown.

The local product from Orange, Calif. is Chapman's fifth All-American as chosen by D3football.com. Former teammate Elias Deeb was chosen twice as a punter. Dino Rossi was a First Team selection at defensive back in 2001 and offensive lineman Mark Shafer earned Second Team recognition in 2001.

Keefe was selected as the SCIAC Defensive Player of the Year and was recognized as a Second Team All-American by the AFCA.
