Jordan, Espinoza named SCIAC Athletes of the Week
ORANGE, Calif — After football's 42-21 win over Pacific Saturday night to open the season, quarterback Nathaniel Espinoza, and linebacker Kade Jordan were named offensive and defensive athletes of the week.
In his first play as a Panther, Espinoza opened the game with an electric 49-yard run that led to a Panther touchdown the very next play. He was on-point through the air as well completing 9-of-11 pass attempts for 165 yards and a touchdown.
Jordan was stout on the defensive end leading the Panthers in tackles with 10 total, seven solo and three assisted. Jordan also was in on a two-yard tackle-for-loss. He and the Panthers defense allowed only 2.7 yards per carry against a run-heavy Pacific offense.
Jordan, Espinoza and Chapman football will return to the field this Saturday to take on Cal Lutheran in a non-conference matchup at 7 p.m. in Thousand Oaks.
