Sixth-straight win boosts Chapman to No. 24 in latest D3hoops.com poll

ORANGE, Calif. – With wins last week over La Verne and Pomona-Pitzer, the Chapman University men's basketball team improved its record to 8-1 on the young season and is now ranked No. 24 in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25 poll which came out on Tuesday.

The Panthers have now won six games in a row after losing 78-69 to Azusa Pacific in November, the No. 9 NAIA-school in the country. Chapman began the year on the fringe of the Top 25, receiving 41 votes, but this is the first time the team has cracked the poll this season after finishing last year No. 12.

Wooster (Ohio) is currently No. 1 followed by Williams (Mass.), Virginia Wesleyan, UW-Stevens Point and Middlebury (Vt.) who round out the top five. Carthage who was previously No. 19 lost last week and dropped out of the poll allowing Chapman to move up.

The D3hoops.com Top 25 is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, sports information directors and media members from across the country and is published weekly.
