Men's basketball seniors travel to Italy with All-Star team

ORANGE, Calif. – Recent Chapman University graduates and men's basketball standouts Colin Zavrsnick, Taylor Hamasaki and John Joyce have been selected to participate in a senior all-star team that is traveling to play four professional Italian Teams (two in Rome/two in Florence) now through June 8.

Guards Zavrsnick and Hamasaki, along with Panthers' starting center Joyce, were named to the team of 10 players all graduates from SCIAC schools. The team will be coached by Mark Jensen, Assistant Men's Basketball Coach for Whittier College and www.wcpoets.com will provide game recaps from the four games.

"The purpose of this team is two-fold," said Jensen, "The first is to provide a foreign travel experience for these young men as part of the Division III experience and second is to give them a chance to be seen by foreign teams/scouts with the possibility for them to get signed to professional contracts to play in Europe."

Zavrsnick and Hamasaki ranked third and seventh, respectively, in the SCIAC in scoring this season and were both named to the All-Conference First Team.
