Rogat helps Panthers to 2-0 week, earns SCIAC award

ORANGE, Calif. – Sophomore Alex Rogat helped the Chapman University men's basketball team to a 2-0 week in Santa Cruz, earning the SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week.

The Panthers rolled to a couple of victories this week, beating Lewis & Clark 84-56 and UC Santa Cruz 71-48 two days later. Rogat put up his first career double-double in the victory over Lewis & Clark, scoring 19 points while putting up 15 rebounds. He scored in the double digits again in the win over the Banana Slugs, scoring 12 points for his fifth consecutive double-digit scoring game.

The Vienna, Austria native averaged 15.5 points and 11 rebounds per game this week. He also dished out seven total assists and tallied three steals to lead the Panthers to an 8-1 start on the season.

Chapman takes the next week off before returning to Hutton Sports Center on Saturday, Dec. 28 to host Bethesda University at 5 p.m.
