Roggin's 29 leads men's basketball over George Fox

ORANGE, Calif. – Three starters combined for 67 points in the Chapman University men's basketball team's 91-76 win over visiting George Fox. The Panthers led from wire-to-wire and eclipsed 90 points for the second game in a row.

Jack Roggin led all players with 29 points to go along with seven rebounds, four assists and two steals. Freshmen Cruz Billings and Jake Heberle each contributed 19 points. Billings added in three assistsm two rebounds, one steal and one block while Heberle had six rebounds and a block. Both Heberle and Billings went 6-for-6 from the free throw line.

Heberle, Billings and Roggin scored (in order) the first seven points of the game with Roggin knocking down his first of five threes. A pair of free throws from Billings made it 9-0 and George Fox never cut it down to less than six as the Panthers led by as many as 27 points in the second half.

George Fox had three starters in double figures, led by 17 points from Davon Walker, but shot just 39.4 percent on the night. The Bruins made just 21.1 percent of their three-pointers.

A three-pointer from Billings put Chapman up by double digits with 13:56 to go in the first half and Roggin finished off a 10-0 run with a three-pointer that made 26-9. The Panthers led 52-31 at halftime and George Fox never came closer than 15 points in the second half as Chapman improved to 3-2 heading into the first part of the conference schedule.

Chapman heads to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps for its first SCIAC matchup on Wednesday before hosting Cal Lutheran on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 4 p.m.
