Gates and Wise lead Panthers to single-round low

TUSTIN, Calif. – The Chapman University men's golf team shot a single-round low on Wednesday afternoon, defeating Hope International with a combined score of 291 at Tustin Ranch Golf Course. The Royals finished 13 strokes behind the Panthers with an overall score of 304.

Captain Bryan Wise and senior Nickolas Gates both shot 71, one under par finishing tied for first in the match. Gates improved on last season score by six strokes, recording a 77 (+5) at Tustin Ranch against Hope International in early March last season.

Rookie freshman Harrison Holetz proved to be an early asset for the Panthers shooting two above par, with an overall score of 74 finishing fourth in the match.

Freshman Griffin Tso rounded out the Panthers top-four recording a score of 75 (+3) finishing tied for fifth with Hope International's Justin Cosca.
