Keating leads men's golf on day two of SCIAC Championship

LOS SERRANOS, Calif. – Freshman Avery Keating shot even par to lead the Chapman University men's golf team on day two of the SCIAC Championship at Los Serranos Golf Club. As a team, the Panthers remained in seventh place.

The Panthers shaved four strokes off their team score to turn in a 301 (+13). However, seven of the eight teams also improved on their day one score as the Panthers remained in seventh place but are just four strokes back of Whittier in sixth place.

Keating shot the best round of any Panther through two rounds, firing an even par in the second round. He moved up to 20th on the individual leaderboard as he is six-over par with a 150 through two rounds. Junior Griffin Tso and freshman Brody Hval duplicated their first round cards with another 76 (+4). Both sit in 26th with a tournament total of eight-over 152.

Sophomore Sian Rogers and junior Dallas Haun each turned in a second card with a five-over 77 to round out the team scoring.

The SCIAC Championship wraps up with the third and final round tomorrow. The first groups will team off at 8 a.m.
