Men's golf competes at UCSD invitational
CARLSBAD, Calif. – The Chapman University men's golf team headed south for the UCSD Invitational and took on a field full of NCAA Division I teams. The Panthers finished 14th as a team with Bradley Lu leading team.
Lu took 63rd overall in a field of 89 Division I golfers. Lu lowered his score in each round of the three round tournament, finishing with a 229 (+13). He opened with a 78 (+6) but carded a 76 (+4) in the second round on Monday. He finished with his best round when he shot a three-over 75 on Tuesday.
Dylan Horowitz shot a 239 (+23) to take 80th overall. Jake Ivan-Pal was 23-over for the tournament with 241. Rodrig Duran was two strokes back of Ivan-Pal and Charlie Shumway turned in a 246 (+30).
As a team, the Panthers shot a 944 (+80) on the La Costa Champions Course. The team is back in action on April 8 when the Panthers head to Mountain Meadows Golf Course in Pomona, Calif. for SCIAC #2.
