Golf teams ready for SCIAC Championships

ORANGE, Calif. – The 2023 SCIAC Men's & Women's Golf Championships tee off on Sunday at the Olivas Links Golf Course in Ventura, Calif. The three-round tournament will conclude on Sunday.

The women's team comes into the final tournament of the season in fifth place in the conference standings after the first two SCIAC events. Through the four combined rounds, the Panthers have totaled 1322 strokes to sit firmly in fifth. They lea Occidental by 14 strokes and Whittier by 17 strokes.

Rachel Truong leads Chapman women's team with a 78.84 stroke average this season. She ranks 97th in Division III. Connor Conley leads the men's team with a stroke average of 75.22 and is ranked in the top-150 of Division III.

The men's team comes into the Championships in seventh place overall but sit just one stroke behind seventh-place Occidental. Chapman has combined four a four round total of 1224 strokes through SCIAC 1 and SCIAC 2.

Information on the championship will be posted on the SCIAC Championships page throughout the week as the eight SCIAC golf teams meet for the final time this season.

Both Chapman teams are no stranger to success at Olivas Links as the golf course can be seen throughout the individual and team records list for low rounds and tournament scores. Chapman will look to continue that success and move up the standings in the final three rounds of the season.
