Saglimbeni and Kimmel earn NSCAA West Region honors

ORANGE, Calif. – Chapman University senior Boston Kimmel and junior Marco Saglimbeni have been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-West Region team for the 2015 season. Kimmel earned second team honors for the second time in his career while this is Saglimbeni's first All-West region honors.

Kimmel, a senior captain, was recognized for anchoring the Chapman midfield with 1,441 minutes played in the 2015 season. The midfielder ranked in the top-five of five offensive categories in the SCIAC: second in assists (7), fifth in goals (7), second in shots (66), third in shots on goal (33), and fourth in points (21).

This is Kimmel's second consecutive season earning NSCAA recognition in addition to earning All-SCIAC recognition three successive seasons. Kimmel also headlined the men's soccer All-Conference team earning Athlete of the Year for the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), becoming the first Panther to earn this award in Program history.  

Saglimbeni started all 21 matches for the Panthers, ranking second on the team with five assists and scoring two game-winning goals this season. He tallied nine goals for the Panthers and led the Panthers with 23 points this season.  

The junior forward also earned a program first this season being named to the College Sports Information Directors of America's Academic All-America Second Team, in addition to earning All-SCIAC honors over the past two years.

The NSCAA administers an annual awards and recognition program which includes Coach of the Year, All-America, long-term service and special recognition awards designed to recognize excellence in soccer, academics and service to the game.
