Wall, Carrillo headline All-SCIAC men's soccer team

ORANGE, Calif. – For the second year in a row, senior Aidan Wall headlined the All-SCIAC team as the Offensive Athlete of the Year and was joined by three more Panthers on the First Team. Head coach Eddie Carrillo, along with his assistants, Romeo Aguinaldo and Jose Vasquez, also earned the program's first-ever Coaching Staff of the Year award.

After locking up the top seed in the SCIAC Tournament, the Panthers were well represented on the First Team. Fellow seniors Chandler Siemonsma and Tobi Howe joined Wall on the All-SCIAC First Team as did sophomore Jackson Busby.

Wall repeated as the Offensive Player of the Year after leading the conference in scoring for the second year in a row. Wall scored a SCIAC-leading seven goals during the SCIAC season to go along with a pair of assists. He scored multiple goals in two different matches and scored a pair of game-winners to lead the Panthers to their first-ever regular season title.

With another season of double digit goals, Wall ran his career total to 35 goals and three assists for a total of 73 points. He ranks fourth all-time at Chapman with 35 goals scored and ranks seventh in total points.

Siemonsma earned a career first with the First Team selection. The Panthers' goalkeeper had an All-Region selection to start his career but earned his first All-SCIAC selection in his final year. He ranked third in the conference with a 1.00 goals against average while ranking fourth with 38 saves in SCIAC contests. His four shutouts in the SCIAC season were also tied for the most among SCIAC keepers.

Howe also earned his first career All-SCIAC nod in his final season after having the best season of his career. His 10 points in the SCIAC season ranked as the fifth-most while his four goals tied him for third. Of those four goals, two proved to be the difference as he scored the only goals of the match in 1-0 wins over Whittier and Redlands. Tobi is the second Howe brother to earn All-SCIAC honors as his brother, Kai, also earned a First Team selection as a senior.

Busby anchored Chapman's back line to earn his first career All-SCIAC selection. He also provided one of the best moments of the season when he scored the game-winner in the final minute at Pomona-Pitzer, completing a three-goal comeback. The dramatic goal was the first of his career and only goal of the season.

For the first time since joining the conference, Carrillo led his staff to the top coaching honors. He led the Panthers to their first-ever regular season title with a record of 6-1-4, suffering the lone loss in the final match of the season with the top seed already locked up. This is the second career coaching honor a he was also named the All-Independent Coach of the Year in 2009.

The Panthers will host a SCIAC Tournament semifinal for the second time in program history when they hit the pitchon Friday at 7 p.m. Chapman earned a bye as the top seed in an expanded SCIAC Tournament and will take on the lowest remaining seed after Tuesday's quarterfinal games.
