Werman wraps up career with All-SCIAC nod

ORANGE, Calif. – Senior Charlie Werman finished off his record-breaking career with an All-SCIAC First Team selection. The selection is the first postseason honor of Werman's career.

Werman will graduate as the all-time wins leader in singles and doubles in Chapman's Division III history. He has totaled 53 career singles wins and 48 career doubles wins to top both lists.

Chapman's No. 1 men's tennis player from Agoura Hills, Calif., went 12-9 with three different doubles partners this year at the top of the doubles lineup. He went 9-7 with fellow senior Josh Sarsfield and 3-1 (all in SCIAC matches) with sophomore Mathew Mead. Werman and Mead upset one of Division III's top-ranked doubles teams from CMS to highlight the season.

Werman had five singles wins this year to grab sole possession of the singles record after ending his junior season tied with former doubles partner Brett Buford.
