Men's tennis drops opener to UC Santa Cruz

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men's tennis team opened the 2022 season with a 7-2 loss to visiting UC Santa Cruz.

Senior Harry Cohen the No. 2 singles match 6-0, 6-2 to score a singles point for the Panthers. He also won the No. 1 doubles match with teammate Caleb Wilkins 8-5.

Wilkins also won his first set in the No. 1 singles match before dropping a heartbreaker in the second. He eventually lost the match 3, 7-5, 6-1. The Banana Slugs won the rest of the singles matches in straight sets to claim the team victory.

The Panthers are back home Feb. 27 to take on Mary Washington at 11 a.m.
