Men's tennis takes down nationally-ranked Babson

ORANGE, Calif. – A doubles sweep helped the Chapman University men's tennis team take down No. 27 Babson 6-3 on Sunday at the Anderson Tennis Center. The Panthers were facing their fourth opponent ranked in the ITA's top-40.

Caleb Wilkins led the Panthers at the top of the lineup as he teamed up with Harry Cohen to win 8-6 in the No. 1 doubles match and scored a three-set victory in the No. 1 singles match. Kameron DeHart was another winner in doubles and singles.

DeHart and Tommy Hays battled to an 8-7 victory at in the No. 2 doubles match while Julien Sanseverino and Andy Hess won 8-6 at No. 3.

With a 3-0 lead in the match, DeHart won 6-1, 7-5 at No. 4 singles to put Chapman one more team point away from the upset. Babson won in straight sets in the No. 2 and No. 3 matches with the rest of the singles heading into a third set.

Wilkins and Marsh pulled out the three-set victories to clinch the match for Chapman. Wilkins won 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 in the top singles match. In the No. 5 match, Marsh rebounded from a first set loss to take a 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory.
