Men's tennis continues historic start to season

ORANGE, Calif. — Men's tennis continues its impressive start to the season, defeating Christopher Newport at the Anderson Tennis Center, 6-3, to improve to 4-0.

Third through sixth singles had an impressive showing capturing four of the six singles points. Andy Hess swept the third singles match 6-0, 6-0. Tommy Hays won his match 6-4, 6-3. Josh Blinder won 7-5 in each set and Danny Marsh, who took his opponent to three sets after losing the first, won the back half 6-0, 6-2.

Chapman captured two more points in doubles as the Blinder and Ben Jorgensen combo continued to stay hot, winning 8-3. Jack Alexander and Kameron DeHart won the third doubles match, 8-5.

Men's tennis is off to its best start in 15 years as the Panthers will look to finish the season improving upon their best record in that span — 11-9 in 2015. Their next match is on Saturday, Mar. 11 at home against Vassar.
