Four-peat and repeat: Mulé and McElvaney earn All-America honors

ORANGE, Calif. - Chapman University men's water polo seniors Alex Mulé and Austin McElvaney have been named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches 2009 NCAA Division III All-America teams.

Earning All-America honors for the fourth straight season, Mulé has led the Panthers in scoring every year since joining the team in 2006. With his 103-goal season this fall, he added to his Chapman all-time record for goals, totaling 388. Mulé also led the Panthers with 244 shots on goal, bringing his Chapman career record to 901. The senior added 20 assists and 46 steals this season.

Mulé becomes the first four-time All-America honoree in Chapman history in any sport.

Receiving All-America honorable mention, McElvaney finished the season leading the team with 55 assists and 102 steals. He holds the Chapman all-time career record in each category, with 184 assists and 451 steals in four years of play. McElvaney earned the award for the second consecutive year, having been named honorable mention in 2008.

Mulé and McElvaney helped the Panthers to their fourth straight season with at least 11 victories earning a berth in the Western Water Polo Association men's championships last November.
