WWPA honors Carter for second consecutive year

ORANGE, Calif. – Chapman University junior utility Brett Carter has been named to the All-Western Water Polo Association team for the second straight year, as voted on by the coaches of the WWPA. The junior becomes just the second Panther in school history to earn the honor multiple times.

Carter finished the regular season ranked second in the WWPA in goals (70) and assists (47). Both were career-highs as he led the Panthers in scoring and finished second to teammate Mark Alvarado (50) in assists. Still with one year remaining in his career, Carter is currently in fourth place in Chapman history with 149 career goals.

The junior, who last week was named to the All-SCIAC team, added career-highs with 29 steals and 25 earned ejections for Chapman, which placed fifth in the WWPA regular season standings, but failed to qualify for the postseason tournament.

The All-WWPA team was selected by the coaches in the conference that includes many of the SCIAC schools as well as Division I and II schools in the Western United States, including Loyola Marymount, Santa Clara, UC San Diego, UC Davis and 2012 champion Air Force Academy.
