Roszkos first team nod highlights Panther All-America selections

ORANGE, Calif. - For the second consecutive season, Chapman University men's water polo players Taylor Roszkos and Brett Carter have been recognized by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) as 2012 All-Americans. Roszkos, a senior goalie, becomes just the second Panther in school history to earn first team All-America honors, the first since Jeff Hall in 2004.

The recognition marks Roszkos' third time being recognized as an All-American by the ACWPC. Roszkos led a Panther team that ranked as high as No. 2 nationally this season, with a total of 226 blocks in 22 games and a career-best 10.83 goals-against average. The first team All-SCIAC member also collected a career-high 53 steals. Roszkos finished his career at Chapman with the second most blocks in school history, totaling at 785.

After earning an All-America honorable mention from the ACWPC last season, Carter, a junior utility, was able to jump to the second team this year. The junior utility scored a team-high and career-high 70 goals for the Panthers, bringing his career total to 149 goals, ranking fourth all-time in Chapman history. Carter also added 47 assists and collected a career-high 29 steals.

The ACWPC is comprised of college coaches from all over the country with a goal to promote the development and advancement of collegiate water polo. The members of the association vote to recognize players annually for their achievements in and out of the pool.
