Allen, Neil earn All-SCIAC honors

ORANGE, Calif. – Seniors Willis Allen and Stephen Neil landed All-SCIAC honors after leading the Chapman University men's water polo team to a second-place regular season finish this year. Allen earned First Team honors while Neil earned a spot on the Second Team. Both earned All-SCIAC honors for the first time in their respective careers.

Allen had a huge year for the Panthers scoring a career-best 76 goals. The utility from Long Beach ranked fourth in the conference in goals scored overall but scored 34 in conference matches, which ranked second in the SCIAC. He fell just shy of a school record when he scored nine goals in back-to-back matches against Whittier and Air Force. He ran his career total to 151 goals, which ranks sixth all-time for the Panthers.

Neil set a single season school record this year with 279 blocks. The goalkeeper from Escondido had a career-year and ran his career block total to 610, ranking him fourth all-time at Chapman. He posted a 10.72 goals against average this season, starting in all but two matches this season.

The Panthers finished over .500 for the second season in a row, finishing 15-12 overall and 7-4 in the SCIAC. Chapman tied for second in the regular season and took fourth in the SCIAC Tournament.
