Program-high 17 athletes honored by ACWPCA

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men's water polo team continued its shared effort toward academic excellence securing another year on the grade-point average leaderboard. The Panthers placed 10th in the nation according to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) with a collective GPA of 3.17 during the 2015 season.

In addition, a program-best 17 student-athletes earned All-Academic honors from the ACWPC. The ACWPC All-Academic Awards are broken down into three levels based on GPA. A student-athlete with a GPA between 3.71 and 4.0 is "Outstanding." Those with a GPA ranging from 3.41 to 3.70 are "Superior" and the "Excellent" category is between 3.20 and 3.40.

A pair of Panther freshmen Quinn Gates and Brandon Lavinsky earned "Outstanding" honors.

Five Panthers followed earning "Superior:" freshmen Anup Sankarraman, Brandon West, junior Sam Baker and seniors Mavrick Gaunt andGarrett Aanestad.

Nine student-athletes earned "Excellent:" freshmen Michael Garcia, Jacob Adams, Justin Cooper, and Brady Hoskins, sophomores Christopher Garau, Louis Campbell, Wilson Parnell and Peter Loakes, seniors Willis Allen and Stephen Neil.

Besides ranking 10th in the nation, the Panthers were the third-highest ranked SCIAC School.
