Perez, Ruff tabbed for All-SCIAC honors

ORANGE, Calif. – Senior Lisa Perez and freshman Analisa Ruff landed All-SCIAC honors after leading the Chapman University softball team offensively. Perez earned First Team honors while Ruff earned a spot on the Second Team. Both earned All-SCIAC honors for the first time in their respective careers.

Perez led the Panthers with 23 RBI and a .605 slugging percentage. The senior started all 38 games and led the Panthers with 38 hits including nine doubles and six home runs. Her four homers in SCIAC games ranked seventh in the conference. Perez ranked second in the SCIAC, throwing out eight runners this year while maintaining a .995 fielding percentage.

Ruff led the Panthers with a .366 average and a .422 on-base percentage. She was honored as a utility player after she appeared in 34 games, scored 11 runs, knocked in nine RBI and collected 38 total bases. Ruff also tossed 17 innings for Chapman, while recording a .957 fielding percentage at first base.

Senior Natalie Both earned all sportsmanship honors after earning seven wins and tossing 101 innings for the Panthers.

The Panthers finished the 2016 season with a 13-25 overall record and a 7-21 record in the SCIAC.
