Third weekly award rolls in for Kelly

ORANGE, Calif. – It's just the beginning of Jillian Kelly's career but it's already full of awards. Kelly was named the SCIAC Pitcher of the Week for the second week in a row and third time this year.

Kelly has been a crucial piece in the Panthers 11-0 start to the season with six wins and a save. She allowed jut one run over to run-rule victories last week against Cal Lutheran to lower her ERA to 1.13 this season.

Chapman swept Cal Lutheran in the SCIAC series with two 8-0 wins in Saturday's doubleheader and a 10-1 win on Sunday. Kelly pitched game one and game three of the series, striking out nine while allowing just one hit and no walks in game. In game three, she struck out four more and allowed one run on two hits.

The Woodland Hills, Calif. native leads the SCIAC in ERA, wins, saves, shutouts and strikeouts.

Chapman takes on No. 9 Rochester in a Tuesday doubleheader before finishing up a series with Occidental on Friday and hosting a doubleheader against WPI on Saturday.
