Softball latest to earn academic distinctions

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University softball team was equally as impressive in the classroom as it was on the field in 2021-22. The Panthers ended the season ranked 26th in the NCAA Division III for GPA and had 21 student-athletes earn academic recognition.

As a team, the SCIAC Tournament champion Panthers put up a 3.615 GPA in the 2021-22 school year – the 26th-best in the nation among Division III programs. The were the third SCIAC school on the list and were one of 115 teams to earn recognition.

Individually, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association also recognizes all student-athletes with at least a 3.5 GPA. A total of 21 softball student-athletes from Chapman earned the distinction of NFCA Scholar-Athletes out of the 26 on the roster.
