Career-high for Glennon helps Panthers extend hot streak

ORANGE, Calif. - Using its depth, the Chapman University women's basketball team cruised to 72-42 victory over La Sierra University on Saturday night at the Hutton Sports Center as 14 Panther players scored points. Chapman pressured the Golden Eagles into 31 turnovers and won the rebounding battle 36-23 en route to their seventh straight victory. During the current win streak the Panthers have outscored their opponents by an average of nearly 16 points per game.

Chapman (13-6) jumped out to a 14-5 lead led by senior G Lauren Kamiyama who had 10 of her 15 points during the opening minutes of the first half. La Sierra kept the Panther lead under double-digits until the 8-minute mark of the first half which is when Chapman took over going on a 17-4 run to close out the half with a 35-17 lead. Kamiyama finished with all 15 of her points In the first half on 6 of 8 shooting.

For the second half, Chapman kept La Sierra (3-14) at bay maintaining a 20- to 30-point lead for much of the second half. Every Panther played at some point in the second half. Sophomore G Tara Glennon made the most of her minutes off the bench in the second half as she scored all of her career-high 15 points in the half.

The sister duo of sophomore G Audrey Ramos and freshman G Laura Ramos led the Golden Eagle attack with nine and eight points, respectively.

Kamiyama finished with six assists on the night leaving her four shy of tying Chapman's all-time assist record held by Gayle Sonoda.
