Strand repeats as All-SCIAC First Team selection

ORANGE, Calif. – Senior Julia Strand earned a spot on the All-SCIAC First Team for women's basketball, the conference announced on Thursday. Strand capped off a brilliant career with her second consecutive First Team selection.

For the second year in a row, Strand averaged a double-double in conference games and led the SCIAC in scoring. She averaged 22.1 points per game in 14 SCIAC games this season – two points better than any other SCIAC player. She also ranked second in rebounding with 11.4 rebounds per game, fourth in blocks, fifth in steals and ninth in field goal percentage.

Strand scored over-30 points in four SCIAC games and more than 20 points in four more, scoring in double digits in all 14 games she played in. She also posted nine double-double in SCIAC games, including an 18-rebound performance in a win over Pomona-Pitzer.

The Panthers finished in a tie for Pomona-Pitzer for fifth place in the conference standings, ending the season with an 11-13 overall record and a 6-10 record in the SCIAC.

Strand graduates from the program second all-time in points per game and third for points scored. She is also second in total rebounds.
