Strand earns another All-Region honor

ORANGE, Calif. – Senior Julia Strand earned her second career All-Region nod as she was selected to the D3hoop.com All-Region 10 Second Team. Strand earned First Team honors as a junior.

For the second year in a row, Strand averaged a double-double on the season with 21.2 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. She led the SCIAC in scoring for the second consecutive year and ranked 15th in Division. Her 13 double-doubles ranked 37th nationally and her 10.6 rebounds per game ranked 43rd.

Strand scored over-30 points in five time this season and scored at least 20 points in 14 of her 22 games played and scored in double digits in every game except when she was injured in the first quarter. She came through with a 31-point, 13-rebound performance in the Panthers' upset of Amherst.

The forward from Seattle, Wash. ended her career with 30 double-doubles while averaging 17 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. She is just the third Chapman player to earn All-Region distinction in back-to-back years, joining Mel Bongiorno and Kimi Takaoka.
