Lewis moves up on day two of SCIAC Championship

CHINO HILLS, Calif. – Sophomore Emily Lewis moved up a spot on the leaderboard to lead the Chapman University women's golf team in the second round of the SCIAC Championship at Los Serranos Country Club. The Panthers are still in sixth as a team but had only three golfers on the course today.

Lewis improved by three strokes since yesterday's first round to move up to a tie for 16th. Lewis has a two-day total 162 (+18) after shooting a seven-over 72 on Monday. She started the day with a par and went on to par nine holes in the round for the three-stroke improvement.

Freshman Brittany Bilek also showed improvement, shaving five strokes off her card from the first round. Bilek shot an 87 (+15) to move up two spots on the leaderboard to 34th with a 179 (+35). Fellow freshman Haylie Bantle is right behind Bilek on the leaderboard in 35th. She shot a 92 today and has totaled a 181 (+37) over the first two rounds.

There is just one round left in the Panthers' inaugural season as they tee it up for one last time this year on Tuesday morning.
