Settle leads women's golf at SCIAC #1

ORANGE, Calif. – Junior Lauren Settle led the Chapman University women's golf team at SCIAC #1 with a 12th-place finish. The Panthers took sixth as a team at the first SCIAC event of the season.

Settle started the two-round tournament with an eight-over 80 and followed it up with a 78 (+6) on day two to tie for 12th with a 158 (+14). Sophomore Kristen Lee fired off an 85 (+13) on both days to finish 25th in the tournament.

Chapman finished the first day in seventh but were able to jump Occidental on day two to finish in sixth place with a two-day team score of 693 (+117).

Junior Brooke Leet was the third Panther on the leaderboard win 32nd with a 183 (+39). Freshman Avani Tumuluri shot an 89 (+17) to contribute to the team score on day one but followed it up with a 99 on day two. She finished 36th with sophomore teammate Sydnee Dimascio one stroke behind in 39th.

The Panthers are back on the course in March for the MJGA Intercollegiate in Las Vegas, Nev. on Mar. 5-7.
