Golf competes at SCIAC #1

LONG BEACH, Calif — Golf took to the links over the weekend at El Dorado Golf Course in the SCIAC #1 tournament. The Panthers saw the women finish fifth and the men finish sixth.

Rachel Truong and Nicole Chang finished tied for 12th place, the best finish out of all the Panthers. Chang posted a team-low of a 78 in her first round, followed by an 83 on day two. Truong started off with an 82 on Saturday and finished with a 79 on Sunday. Chang was tied for seventh after day one.

On the men's side, Conner Conley finished tied for 13th, the best finish on the team, shooting 76 and 75 in his rounds. The team-low, however, came from Charlie Shumway who jumped 13 spots in the rankings with a solid two-over 74 performance on day two.

Men's golf returns to action Feb. 20-21 at The Joust at Goose Creek Golf Club in Jurupa Valley. The women return March 11-12 at the Westbrook Invitational.
