
Women's golf takes sixth at SCIAC Championships
VENTURA, Calif. – The Chapman University women's golf team finished in sixth place at the SCIAC Championships. Rachel Truong finished her last round below par to lead the Panthers at the three-round championship event.
After opening the tournament with an 80 (+8) and 77 (+5), Truong bouned up six spots on the final day with a two-below par 70. Her three-day total of 227 (+11) placed her in 17th overall. Emily Cho also surged forward on the final day with an even par round to move up four spots to 24th. Her three-day total was 231 (+15).
Nicole Chang led Chapman through the early rounds but finished in 29th with a 245 (+26).
As a team, the Panthers finished each day in sixth place to stay in sixth on the leaderboard. The Panthers totaled a 950 (+86) for the three days, finishing with a team-best 307 (+19) on Tuesday.
Chapman wraps up the season in sixth place in the SCIAC standings.
