Five Panthers named to IWLCA All-Region teams

ORANGE, Calif. – Five student-athletes from the Chapman University women's lacrosse team earned All-Region honors as announced today by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association. Three Panthers earned first team honors while two more were second team selections.

All-SCIAC First Teamers Tara Sonnemaker, Dillan Watts and Stacey Zuppa all earned the first team distinction while Chapman's all-time leading scorers Brooke Martini and Gretchen Rodenberger were named to the second team.

The five All-Region selections more than doubles Chapman's number of All-Region selection in program history. In 2013, Chapman landed three All-Region selections. All five of this year's selections are first time honorees.

All five Panthers were announced as All-SCIAC first team selections earlier this week following the best season in the program's brief history. Chapman finished second in the SCIAC and won a program-record 15 games. The Panthers also made school history with their first bid to the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship.

Chapman will travel to Claremont, Calif. to take on Pomona-Pitzer in a rematch of the SCIAC Championship match, which the Sagehens won by a goal. Match time is set for Sunday at 4 p.m.
