Trio of hat tricks helps top Britons

ORANGE, Calif — The Chapman Panthers continue to stay hot as they won their third game in a row on Wednesday, Mar. 9 over the Albion Britons, 16-9.

Three hat tricks for three different Panthers accounted for 10 of Chapman's goals in this one. Annika Carlson led the way with four goals, while Jessica Ricketts and Corinn Valeri added three of their own.

Two other Panthers posted a pair of goals as well, Vanessa Topete and reigning Athlete of the Week, Anna Klose, had two apiece.

Chapman jumped out to a fast start in the first quarter, at one point leading 7-2. But Albion cut the deficit to three by the half.

Coming out of the locker room, the Britons continued to shrink the margin, and the score stood at 9-7 heading into the final frame.

The fourth was where the Panthers opened the floodgates. Valeri netted two of her goals in the fourth and a plethora of Panthers added goals to the ledger.

With the win, the Panthers improve to 3-2 while Albion falls to 4-2.

Chapman returns to Wilson Field next Wednesday, Mar. 16, against the Worcester St. Lancers.
