Hereu named SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week

ORANGE, Calif. – Freshman Anna Hereu has been selected as the SCIAC Defensive Player of the Year after a stalwart effort in leading the Chapman University women's lacrosse team to a win last week.

Hereu allowed just four goals in the 14-4 win and made a season-best 11 saves. She also picked up four ground balls and caused a turnover in the victorious effort in net. She held Worcester State to just 2-for-8 in free position opportunities.

Chapman won its fourth match in a row with Hereu allowing just seven goals per match over that stretch.

The Panthers are back in the SCIAC schedule tomorrow when they host Redlands at 4 p.m.
