The Athenas were on the board first early in the second half with a corner from Tori Holden that found Ava Sherry on the right side of the goal. Sherry chipped the ball into the left corner leaving the score 1-0.

The Panthers answered with ten minutes remaining in regulation when Riley Pidgeon rocketed the penalty kick past Athena Manthouli to tie the match 1-1, sending the teams into overtime.

Six minutes into overtime Pidgeon found the ball downfield and took a shot on goal, the shot deflected off of the keeper leaving the net wide open for the game-winning rocket into the left corner. Pidgeon bolstered her season total to 13 goals, leading the Panthers and the SCIAC.
